Gheorghe Hagi, born on February 5, 1965, in Săcele, Romania, is regarded as one of the greatest attacking midfielders in football history. His incredible skill and creativity earned him the nickname “The Maradona of the Carpathians”.


Early Life and Career

Hagi began his professional career at Farul Constanța (1980–1983) before moving to Sportul Studențesc (1983–1987), where he became one of Romania’s top young talents.

His performances earned him a move to Romania’s biggest club, Steaua Bucharest, in 1987.
