His career peaked in 1994 when he won the Ballon d’Or and led Bulgaria to the FIFA World Cup semi-finals.


Early Life and Career

Stoichkov began his professional career at Hebros (1982–1984) before joining CSKA Sofia, where he quickly became the best player in Bulgaria. His explosive performances in the domestic league earned him a move to Barcelona in 1990.
